Recurring Workflows

Automate repetitive compliance tasks for consistency

Recurring Workflows

Compliance isn't a one-time project. Recurring workflows ensure critical activities happen consistently.

Common Recurring Tasks

Typical compliance workflows that should recur:

  • Policy reviews: Annual or biannual policy updates
  • Risk assessments: Quarterly risk review cycles
  • Control testing: Monthly or quarterly control validation
  • Asset inventory updates: Quarterly asset verification
  • Vendor reviews: Annual vendor risk assessment
  • Incident review: Monthly incident analysis and lessons learned

Setting Up Automation

Create automations for recurring work:

  1. Choose template or create custom automation
  2. Define schedule: Weekly, monthly, quarterly, or custom interval
  3. Set advance notice: How many days before due date to create the task
  4. Assign to team member responsible for execution
  5. Attach to entities (controls, risks, assets, etc.)

See Automation for detailed setup instructions.

Monitoring Automation Health

Track automation effectiveness:

  • Task completion rates: Percentage of tasks completed on time
  • Health status: Healthy, Warning, Failing based on completion patterns
  • Missed tasks: Tasks that became overdue
  • Trends: Improvement or degradation over time

Adjusting Workflows

Refine workflows based on results:

  • Adjust schedules if tasks are consistently late
  • Reassign if current assignee is overloaded
  • Update task descriptions for clarity
  • Add or remove workflows as program matures
